From Routine to the Open Road
I am a Saudi traveler who grew up in a respectful and stable environment, where life followed a predictable path: I would work, marry, and settle down with a family. This was a beautiful idea, but it began to frustrate me because of its routine. Every step I took led me to the same expected milestones.
This feeling grew stronger after I turned 30. That age was the spark; it made me realize I was no longer a teenager, and that I needed to make a change. I decided to break out of that routine, to find something that would give me a big shift, a spark that would change my life.
One day, I watched a film about bicycles, and those childhood memories returned. I felt again that same excitement I had as a kid riding street by street, feeling the wind in my face, as if I were flying at lightning speed, even though I was only going a few kilometers an hour.
That feeling brought back a piece of my childhood. Even at 30, an age I thought was for adulthood, I realized it was just the beginning. From there, my journey started with a bicycle that introduced me to new friends, a different world, and eventually led me to global adventures.
The Journey Continues…
Today, after traveling across six continents and covering more than 220,000 kilometers, I still believe that the best part of the journey lies ahead.
